Big T used to use disposable wipes with cloth diapers, and that made everything more complicated. Then you have to throw dirty wipes in your open garbage can, and the whole mess is smelly and dirty. If you’re traveling, you end up having to pick out the disposable wipes from the dirty diaper. That’s a gross, stinky process as well. You’re washing the dirty diapers anyway (or sending them to the service) so it’s not any messier to add in the cloth wipes too.
But using cloth wipes can be confusing. What do you use for the solution? What do you use for the wipe? There are hundreds of ideas out there, and searching online can leave you feeling overwhelmed.
Green Baby diaper Service makes using cloth wipes easier with some new products. They have new wipes, wipe pouches, and Baby Bits (AKA simple wipe solution).
Wipes - $6.50 for 15 wipes
Osocozy Flannel Baby Wipes are soft on baby’s skin. You can use them with water or wipes solution and toss them in the diaper pail with your dirty diapers. They are 15” x 15”—big enough for dirty bottoms but small enough to fit well in your diaper bag. They are also great to have around the house, in the car, and in the diaper bag to use for wiping up snotty noses, dirty faces, and sticky hands.
Wipes Pouches
The new Planetwise wipes pouches are the perfect way to stash your wipes. They are compact: 5.5” x 9.5”. You can store dry wipes in them, or dampen them before you leave the house and store them in the bag. The leak-proof design will keep your wipes damp and ready to use. Just make sure to take them out when you get home! Have you ever kept dampened wipes in the bag too long? It makes for some really mildewy, stinky laundry to deal with.
Baby Bits Wipes Solution - $11.50 for about 50 cubes
Baby Bits are an easy way to make a wipes solution without having to spend money on random essential oils that you’ll barely use or scouring town for special ingredients. They are little squares of mild glycerin soap with other ingredients like plantain and chickweed-infused olive oil to help prevent rashes. Tea tree oil helps keep the water clean and has antifungal and antibacterial properties, and lavender essential all makes it smell good and helps keep everyone calm.
To use Baby Bits, you just drop a square of Baby Bits into a spray or squirt bottle and fill with warm water. The Bits will slowly dissolve into the perfect, mess-free wipes solution. I always used water for my wipes solution until Liz turned me onto Baby Bits. They make a big difference and help me feel like I’m getting baby cleaner every time I use them. And a little goes a long way. I end up using about ¾ of the bottle and then refilling to get even more out of each Baby Bit square. One cube lasts me 2 weeks to one month.
Stop into the store to get some of these convenient new products for yourself, or buy the wipes and Baby Bits at Green Baby’s online shop!
